Gases Used in Plasma Cutting

In plasma cutting, there are two different types of gas. These are the swirl gas which covers the plasma beam, and the plasma gas that is used to generate the beam. Cutting different materials requires the use of different gases. This is because the different properties of each gas will cut the material in a different way.
